SPREE Project at the Manitouwadge Municipal Airport
Earthquake monitoring equipment has/will be placed at the Manitouwadge Municipal Airport for 36 months. Superior Province Rifting Earthscope Experiment (SPREE) is funded by National Science Foundation (NSF) and carried out by three U.S. and two Canadian universities. The purpose is to investigate the structure of the North American continent and the physical processes controlling earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

Airport. The area consists of one asphalt runway, which is 3,600’ long by 100’ wide.
We provide service for many business and personal aircrafts, including Fire Services, Air Ambulance, chartered flights, and private aircrafts.

24 hour Pay-phone available on Airside.
